What is the Human Resource Information System (HRIS)?
A Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is a software application that combines all aspects of human resources functions such as payroll, benefits, performance, recruitment, and training into a single system.
An HRIS utilizes a technology platform to support the management of human resources. Through an HRIS, an organization can automate routine tasks, provide Employee Self-Service to improve efficiencies, and provide faster data analysis and dissemination of information.
An HRIS can have any number of functions that integrate into a single system. Modules can include payroll and benefits administration, employee self-service for updating personal information, workflow scheduling, performance analysis, and recruitment requirements.
