What are Safe Harbor Regulations?

Safe Harbor is an agreement between the US Department of Commerce and the European Commission that outlines how personal information can be given from the EEA to the US. Safe Harbor focuses on protecting private data and setting regulations as to how it can be obtained, used, and retained. These regulations hold companies to a certain standard if their business brings them into contact with private data of citizens in the United States.
